Lies About Satan
Jimmy Stitt

Most Christians don't deny the existence of Satan and the kingdom of darkness; they just don't understand how Satan and his demons work and operate within the lives of God's  people. These misunderstandings are giving demons legal access into the lives of God's people. The lies that I will share with you are quietly destroying believers from the inside out. Most Christians are not being taught real spiritual warfare. Not because pastors and leaders are deceptive, but because they are presenting what they have been taught. Satan's greatest stratagem is to remain hidden. When Christians believe lies about Satan they do not resist him.

1. If you are a Christian Satan is no longer a problem.

     (A) Salvation does not remove spiritual warfare, it intensifies it.

     (B) Christians are free from Satan's ownership but not opposition.

     (C) Scripture warns believers about Satan and demons not unbelievers. Why? Because false security creates unresisted bondage. Salvation gives                                    authority not automatic protection. When you become a Christian ownership changes but spiritual opposition increases. Ephesians 6:10 tells the                                Christian to put on the full armor of God. Armor is not needed if there is no battle.

2. Praying and reading your Bible will keep the devil away.

     (A) Prayer and Bible reading are important, but are not magical repellants. They are weapons not hiding places. Jesus did not pray demons out., He cast                        them out. Prayer without resistance is a request without enforcement. Prayer strengthens discernment but does not replace active enforcement in                            battling the powers of darkness. Knowledge without Spirit led warfare does not stop demonic activity. James 4:7 "Submit to God and resist the                                  devil then he will flee" notice the order.

3. Demons only dwell in the lives of evil people.

     (A) Demons are not morally selective. They are opportunists. Trauma, fear, abuse and addictions are common door ways for demons to gain entrance into                    the lives of people, whether Christian or not a Christian. Demons enter by vulnerability not just wickedness. Bad behavior is often the result of demons                    not the requirement for demonic entrance. Ephesians 4:27 "give no place to the devil".

4. Minor dabbling in the occult won't get you a demon.

     (A) The Bible never ranks occult involvement as major or minor. Any involvement may open the door to demons.  Demons do not require belief just                                    participation which gives permission. 1 Corinthians 10:20 "do not participate with demons".

5. Demons can't be passed on generationally.

     (A) People who believe this confuse spiritual personal guilt with spiritual personal patterns. You don't inherit guilt for sin committed, true, but you can                           inherit vulnerability to sin. Salvation breaks ownership patterns, but the patterns of evil that are imbedded in the bloodline must be confronted. Family                   soul-ties must be broken to prevent transmission of curses and patterns of ungodly soulish expressions. Generational influence does not negate                                Christ's victory but it does explain recurring bondage. (Hosea 4:6)

6. Every false assumption about Satan and demons produces three things.

     (A) Passivity instead of resistance.

     (B) Benign theology instead of assertive authority.

     (C) Empty powerless knowledge instead of true spiritual freedom.

7. Freedom requires:

     (A) Truth

     (B) Discernment

     (C) Action

Every Christian must be involved in spiritual warfare. No one is exempt from demonic torment and invasion. The devil doesn't just target evil people, but the spiritually weak and morally vulnerable, and even Christians!
